PLEASE BRING THIS MESSAGE TO THE ATTENTION OF YOUR CUSTOMERS AND STATION MANAGER

Governor Andrew Cuomo has proclaimed May 22nd through the 29th the first-ever Vehicle Safety Week in New York State.

Vehicle Safety Week seeks to raise awareness among the motoring public about the importance of maintaining a properly functioning vehicle and the direct link to personal/family safety.  Motorists should make sure that their vehicle has a valid inspection certificate.  Additionally, motorists are urged to have their vehicles examined to check brake and radiator fluids, battery life, that tires are properly inflated, windshield wipers are not worn, and that everything is in good working order for the summer driving season. It is also recommended that New Yorkers keep a summer travel safety kit in their car with windshield wiper fluid, jumper cables, a tire pressure gauge, hazard road markers, a flashlight, phone charger as well as water and snacks for passengers in case they become stranded.

Additionally, motorists should check safercar.gov to ensure there are no outstanding recalls affecting their vehicles. If there are, they can learn how to get repairs.  This website address is also on the Vehicle Inspection Receipt.
